PROGRAM NOTE
This is a set in-progress of new virtuoso pieces for two violas. More pieces are being added to this collection. Thanks to Jocelin Pan and William Bender, and also to violists Edward Klorman, Janice LaMarre, and Suzanne Wagor for their many invaluable suggestions.
BAILE DE PIEDRAS: A virtuosic piece for viola duo in which all musical material is shared continuously by both instruments. The highly rhythmicized dance exists only as a product of both its parts.
CLOUDS IN SINGLE FILE: Like a river in music, slow and powerful in its pacing, deeply resonant.
