Huge appreciation for Nick Phan, Nathan Cole, Akiko Tarumoto, Priscilla Lee, and Burchard Tang for bringing my new work Boys’ Ambition to life so beautifully last night at the Chamber Music Festival of Lexington. Congratulations to Alessio Bax and all for a scintillating concert of Ravel, Schubert, and me. And congratulations to Charlie Stone, Richard Young, and all the festival’s team for the success. And most of all, a huge thanks to all those awesome Kentuckians who shared their own powerful river stories with me afterwards. I am so moved and inspired.
